3D Imaging

One of Oliverie Dental’s newest services is 3-D scanning with the i-CAT 3-D imaging system. One of the first such devices in the Wall, New Jersey area, the 3-D imaging system is an invaluable diagnostic tool for patient’s seeking dental implants and for those with TMD problems. The i-CAT Cone Beam 3-D imaging system produces three-dimensional images of patients’ critical anatomy, typically in less than 24 seconds, and provides complete 3-D views of all oral and maxillofacial structures. This allows Dr. Oliverie to make an accurate diagnosis and treatment plan.

Dental Implants

With the i-CAT™ Cone Beam 3-D Imaging System Dr. Oliverie is able to evaluate and analyze critical anatomy for implants, within minutes – right in our office. She is then able to optimize implant treatment and placement and selection of the most suitable implant type, size, location, and angulations prior to surgery.

The i-CAT™ Cone Beam 3-D Imaging System provides precise, cross-sectional slices of any desired location in the maxilla or mandible with exact anatomical information, including dimensions and locations. 3-D images assist in determining if bone grafting or sinus lift is warranted in areas of insufficient bone for the implant procedure.

Endodontics (Root Canals)

The i-CAT™ Cone Beam 3-D Imaging Systemis also a very valuable diagnostic tool in the treatment of root canals. 3-D imaging is much more accurate than traditional 2-D imaging. In fact, it is estimated that with older technology, 33% of lesions in molar teeth go undetected due to super imposed structures. With the i-CAT™ Cone Beam 3-D Imaging System, Dr. Oliverie is able to accurately diagnose and treat even the most complex endodontic problems.

TMD Analysis

The i-CAT’s ability to provide three-dimensional images of the condyles and surrounding structures allows for complete analysis and diagnosis of bone morphology, joint space, and function – all critical to TMD dysfunction treatment and care. Ten second, high-speed scan captures TMD jaw views quickly and accurately.

Airway Analysis

With the i-CAT™ Cone Beam 3-D Imaging System, Dr. Oliverie is able to accurately diagnose and help treat patients with obstructive sleep apnea. Using this fast, relaxed, and non-invasive approach, the i-CAT™ Cone Beam 3-D Imaging System creates a detailed 3-D volume report that clearly identifies the most restricted area.

With the proper diagnosis Dr. Oliverie is then able to determine the most effective treatment for sleep apnea. Often, a custom oral appliance can be constructed that will effectively treat snoring symptoms.
